The brief for the One P70 was to deisgn and manufacture an all-in-one soundbar that is coupled with Orbitsound’s newly developed Wifi - Multiroom app.

The focus for me was simple; build a product with a minimal aesthetic that blends into any environment whilst being compact enough without compromising sound. This was the first product I have developed for mass production so I learned alot about the manufacturing industry in China.

Working with Oritsound’s Tonnemeister the process started with building a specific audio platform suited to the application. Early MDF CNC construction prototypes allowed us to test positioning of the drivers and validate the Internal volume and tuning.

Using wood as the primary material gave the product excellent acoustic properties and also allowed us to reduce the amount of plastic parts used. Once the product was ready for production my resposibilities allowed me to build a refined SOP and functional assembly line.

The assembly process required custom made jigs to ensure no damage was made to the product and all gap and step tolerances were met.

Wired inputs are critical to making a soundbar functional. We removed HDMI and added a remote learning feature as well as providing a dedicated remote.

The ONE P70W is designed to minimise power consumption and electricity bills. When no sound is playing, the ONE P70W will shut down components that are not in use, and automatically come to life when needed.
